Mass car towing along Bukit Bintang grips attention, sparking debate

IT IS a veritable car sale along Jalan Bukit Bintang, with the many police tow trucks picking up the cars parked illegally by the side of the road.

News portal BERNAMA TV, who posted the video said it happened due to many people who participated in Thalita’s concert.

According to netizen Mohd Muhsin, he had seen such things being done live, that DBKL came with a group and immediately dragged the cars without much conversation.

“But there are those who came running to save their cars,” added Mohd Muhsin.

Although the authorities are usually not high on the popularity scale, DBKL seemed to have scored some major points in that operation.

Aarchduke.aarif added that this should have been a daily routine, especially during the night. He added that the illegal parking was the main reason why the area there is always congested.

Also, another netizen mentioned that if such things were done across Kuala Lumpur on a daily basis, DBKl would be rich.

Netizen 𝒮𝑜𝓊𝒻𝒾𝐻𝒶𝓈𝒷𝒾™ jokingly added that they could buy many two trucks after this and set a return on investment of two years.

Interestingly, the mass towing incident also sparked netizens to highlight other areas that could benefit from this.

S.U.Ŋ.Ŧ.ђ.℮.Я ®™ pointed out that there were many taxis parked in front of Pavillion, and that the authorities do not want to pick them up.

“Yes they are in the car but they are troubling people by waiting there. Try to overcome this issue,” he said.

“When will you tow the people who double park at the road entering LRT Pandan Indah and fronting the Ampang Hospital?” said one netizen.

Shxzwn further proposed that they clear Jalan Sultan which is congested with illegal parking.

Besides the lucrative reward garnered from all the fines, there are also many lessons to be learned by the wayward drivers. We say it is a win, win. - Focus Malaysia
