'Slightly lethargic' PKR women's wing needs jump start - Rodziah

PKR Women, under the leadership of Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, is a little lethargic and could stand to improve, according to a party rival.

Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail - who lost to Fadhlina in the last party election by just 32 votes - said she is considering another run for the wing's top post to bring about that rejuvenation.

"I am looking at the necessity, and I understand the desire of the grassroots who want me to lead (PKR Women).

"I see much room for improvement. I feel there is a bit of lethargy, and (the wing) needs new life," Rodziah (above) was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian yesterday.

In the 2022 PKR polls, Fadhlina bagged 18,923 votes while Rodziah received 18,891.

PKR is set to hold its central leadership election in May.

However, the election process will be different this time. PKR will revert to a delegate voting system as most parties practised for central positions, instead of giving every member a vote.

It is unclear whether any leadership changes in the party will lead to a cabinet reshuffle, as was the norm in previous governments.

Rodziah - a former Selangor exco member - further said she will defend her post as the Shah Alam PKR division chief. - Mkini
