PETALING JAYA
A local fast-food restaurant chain has apologised for a mistakenly played Maghrib prayer call at its Puncak Alam branch, causing its patrons to break fast three minutes early on March 17.

Sinar Harian reported the management of the DarSA Fried Chicken branch as saying in a statement it had played the prayer call at 7.26pm even though the time to break fast that day was 7.29pm, according to checks with the Islamic development department.

It requested the patrons involved to replace the fasting day missed, as the mistake had caused them to ruin their fast.

“We apologise for our mistake and appreciate the awareness and concern demonstrated by the patrons who notified us of the matter.

“We advise our patrons to replace the fasting day. We have also taken corrective measures to ensure this does not recur, including adjusting the prayer call with the official schedule,” said the branch management.

The branch’s patrons had taken to social media over the matter, expressing their disappointment that they had unintentionally broken fast earlier than they should have. - FMT
