KUALA LUMPUR: In support of sustainable food security, the minister has converted available space at his official residence into a small-scale farm, planting 1,000 Ehsan rose onion seeds.
The initiative, carried out in collaboration with Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) Group chief executive officer Datuk Dr Mohamad Khairil, utilises the "Raised Garden Box" method for better organisation and management.
Earlier, the minister visited Selangor Fruit Valley to observe large-scale Ehsan rose onion cultivation across 25 acres.
These efforts underscore a strong commitment to national food security through urban farming and sustainable agriculture.
Integrating such initiatives with agricultural policies and community engagement can help build a more resilient food system. - NST
