
The 20 items included potato curry puffs, kuih seri muka, kuih tepung pelita, chicken roti john (short and long), chicken murtabak, nasi Arab ayam (makloubeh rice with chicken) and ayam golek (rotisserie chicken).
Potato curry puffs were most expensive in Penang, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya at an average of 90 sen per piece, compared with as low as 50 sen in Perlis and 60 sen in Kedah, Melaka, Pahang and Perak, among others.
Chicken murtabak was most expensive in Pahang at RM7.80 per piece, followed by Johor at RM7.10, Perak at RM7 and Melaka at RM6.90.
Kuih seri muka was most expensive in Perlis at RM1.80 per piece, followed by Penang and Kedah at RM1.20 each, and Johor and Terengganu at 90 sen each.
Kuih tepung pelita was most expensive in Negeri Sembilan, Selangor and Putrajaya at RM1.10 per piece, followed by Penang, Perak, Terengganu and Kuala Lumpur at RM1.
Nasi Arab ayam was most expensive in Putrajaya at RM19 per set, followed by Selangor at RM16.30, Kedah at RM15.70 and Perak at RM15.50.
Chicken roti john (short) was most expensive in Penang at RM7.50 per pack, followed by Selangor at RM7 and Kelantan at RM6.80.
The long variant of the item was most expensive in Johor at RM11 per pack, followed by Selangor at RM10.30 and Negeri Sembilan and Putrajaya at RM10.
Iced sirap bandung was most expensive in Putrajaya at RM6 per pack, followed by Sarawak at RM5.70, Melaka at RM5.50 and Selangor at RM5.30.
Unsurprisingly, ayam golek was the most expensive item in every state, costing the most in Labuan at RM35 per chicken, RM33 in Sabah and RM29 in Penang and Kuala Lumpur. - FMT
