Now everyone wants “neither here nor there” PMX, DAP to state clear stand on hot potato UEC’s future

WITH the euphoria of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim “having rejected the UEC’s (Unified Examination Certificate) recognition” been quelled as misreporting, rightist UMNO, opposition and Madani grassroots alike are now demanding both PMX and DAP to state the obvious on the matter.

This was best worded by self-proclaimed rakyat activist Isham Jalil who challenged PMX to either state “(a) the government WILL recognise the UEC or (b) the government WILL NOT recognise the UEC”.

“And (likewise) DAP to state (a) if it will all leave the (Madani) government tomorrow if UEC is not recognised or (b) it’s fine if UEC is not recognised so long as we remain in the (Madani) government,” penned the now opposition-slant former UMNO supreme council member on his Facebook page.

“Beyond that, other statements are just a waste of time. My take is that Anwar won’t dare to recognise the UEC while DAP won’t dare to leave the government. Both are kaki sembang (good at play-acting). They’re just spinning around like lalang (weeds).”

From overnight hero to villain

A gauge at reaction to the former special officer to incarcerated former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s social media post indicated that man in the street Malaysians have wised up to such “political charade” which is commonplace “whenever the national polls draw closer”.

This according to them is merely a gimmick “to win the hearts of their supporters so as to stay relevant after the Sabah state election drubbing”.

“It’s so true that PMX and DAP are just acting out … It’s as if we don’t know who PMX is or that we’re unaware of the tricks of DAP8481,” proffered an observant commenter.

“They’re deliberately trying to bait PAS into speaking out so that DAP supporters and the Chinese will be afraid of PAS if they rule Malaysia … hence, the purpose of PMX and DAP’s acting out is clear and obvious.”

Former MCA vice-president Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker postulated that ‘it’s not surprising if we see DAP now playing posturing politics in the tone of PROTEST by openly pressuring PMX”.

“And most likely, the real issue is not UEC. UEC is just a pressure tool and a riding horse for PMX’s consideration to include MCA and MIC in the upcoming cabinet reshuffle,” opined the former youth and sports minister during the Barisan Nasional-Perikatan Nasional administration (BN-PN) in a FB post.

“This is what led to DAP’s political protest against PMX in the form of UEC as a warning not to open the Cabinet door to MCA and MIC in the upcoming reshuffle.”

Added the former senator (2018-2024): “Politics is being played behind the scenes with rhetoric fronting it just as decoration (to deceive the public). Power is the real agenda.”

After all, there is ample past evidence to even show that PMX has himself voiced support for the recognition of UEC in the run-up to the 15thg General Election (GE15) in November 2022.
