The usual election stunt of a mini party exodus has happened again.
Murugan told Malaysiakini last night that they had joined MIC out of disappointment with PKR’s state and central leadership, opining that the Indian party was the only one that championed their rights.
He said the straw that broke the camel’s back was when the Iskandar Puteri annual division meeting was abruptly cancelled for no reason.
He also claimed that 150 others had quit PKR, joining either Umno, MCA or Parti Bersama Malaysia.
This time, it's 200 PKR members in Iskandar Puteri joining MIC. They were led by former Johor party leader M Murugan - who previously contested for PKR in Tenggaroh in 2013 and Layang-Layang in 2018.
The Rembau district customary council has denied that its decision to appoint a new undang (chieftain) was influenced by embattled ruler Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.

This is after the district appointed Hassan Ab Hamid as its new undang - replacing Abdul Rahim Yasin - whose status as chieftain has been in dispute due to a lack of formalisation.
Tuanku Muhriz formally installed Hassan as the undang on Saturday.
Rahim is aligned with the faction that is trying to depose Tuanku Muhriz. - Mkini
