To stop PH-DAP, PAS will still back Bersatu

PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden said the party’s bigger agenda is to prevent victories at the polls for PH and DAP.

PAS must continue backing Bersatu in some seats in the Johor polls as Pakatan Harapan, especially DAP, remains the Islamic party’s number one enemy, says PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden.

Despite ending its political cooperation with Bersatu earlier this month, Afnan said PAS’s bigger agenda is to prevent victories at the polls for PH and DAP.

This is why PAS members and supporters must vote for the Perikatan Nasional candidates in the 33 seats the coalition is contesting, even if the candidate is from Bersatu, he said.

“What’s more important is we must not let PH win. Between Bersatu and PH, PH is worse. Bersatu is still okay although we’ve ended our political cooperation,” he said at a ceramah in Simpang Jeram, Bakri, last night.

Yesterday, PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man urged the party’s members and supporters to vote for Barisan Nasional candidates in seats PN is not contesting.

BN and PH are contesting all 56 state seats up for grabs while PN has fielded 33 candidates.

Although PAS ended its cooperation with Bersatu earlier this month, both parties remain components of PN and are contesting under the coalition’s banner in the Johor polls.

However, PAS has decided not to help Bersatu with its election campaign. - FMT
