Hadi quashes talk of Umno-PAS pact for Kelantan

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has dismissed rumours of a secret electoral pact with Umno to guarantee a walkover for PAS in Kelantan, calling them untrue and unfounded in reality.
“I think it is not wise because we are going to contest in all seats. How are we going to contest and fight Umno but talk about seats?
“It (the rumour) must be based on reality.
“We can talk about Palestine and the Rohingya (with Umno). But when it comes to elections, we want to fight. We want to fight all,” he told reporters at a press conference today.
He was fielding questions after officiating Selangor PAS’ election machinery in conjunction with its Fastaqim 2.4 rally in Shah Alam today.
Kelantan Umno chief Mustapa Mohamed had previously dismissed a similar rumour in August last year, following a report by Singapore’s Straits Times.

According to the report, Hadi had been in constant contact with Umno president Najib Abdul Razak to ensure PAS’ victory in Kelantan and Umno’s victory in Selangor.
"If there was anything like that, I am sure I would be informed. But I have no knowledge of this.
"There could be communications (between the two leaders) but only on government administration matters.
“But to suggest a political alliance, I deny that it is happening in Kelantan. There are no plans to be together," Mustapa was quoted as saying by New Straits Times.
The minister again refuted any talk of a Kelantan walkover on Friday, saying such a claim is an opposition stratgey to drive a wedge between himself and Najib.
