Hisommudin Bakar has resigned from Ilham Centre and is now private secretary to Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
The political analyst revealed this following a statement from the think tank announcing his departure.
“I am now the private secretary to the minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. I started yesterday,” he told Malaysiakini when contacted today.
Hisommudin had been Ilham Centre’s executive director since it was established in 2006.
He has also been a much-quoted analyst on public policy and political issues, most recently in the 14th general election.
The firm will now be helmed by acting executive director Mohd Azlan Zainal.
“Ilham Centre appreciates all of Hisommudin’s work and commitment during his time leading the company,” the statement says. -Mkini
