Popular TV personality and emcee Mahadzir Lokman died in Kota Kinabalu today. He was 61.
Kota Kinabalu district police chief Habibi Majinji said Mahadzir died at a hotel at about 9.30am.
“The death could have been the result of an illness he may have been suffering from. There was no criminal element. Nevertheless, we are conducting an investigation,” he said when Bernamacontacted him.
Habibi said the police received a report at about 11am.
He said Mahadzir had checked in to the hotel on July 31 on work-related matters.
He was confirmed dead by a medical specialist from the Queen Elizabeth 1 Hospital, he added.
At about 2pm, Sabah Chief Minister Mohd Shafie Apdal and his wife, Shuryani Shuaib, paid their last respects to Mahadzir at the Forensics Department of Queen Elizabeth 1 Hospital.
