Negri DAP denies Anthony Loke will be included in state exco

SEREMBAN: Negri Sembilan DAP has denied talk that former Transport Minister Anthony Loke (pic) will be appointed by Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun to be part of the state exco line-up.
Rasah MP Cha Kee Chin said the matter was never discussed by the party and was not even on its agenda during its monthly meeting two days ago.
"There is talk that Loke may now join the state exco since he no longer holds a position at the federal level.
"On behalf of the state committee, I would like to deny this," he said when contacted Thursday (March 5).
There was speculation that Loke may be appointed to sit in the state exco following a report from a Chinese vernacular newspaper.
Loke, who is also Chennah assemblyman, is state DAP chief.
Cha, who is state DAP secretary, said the meeting held by the party on Tuesday (March 3) was a normal meeting scheduled some time ago.
Eleven of the 20 Pakatan assemblymen in the state are from DAP followed by PKR (six) and Amanah (three).
The DAP has five of the 11 positions in the state exco line-up.
Barisan Nasional holds the remaining 16 seats with Umno having 15 and MIC, one. - Star
