Selangor Sultan advises people to stay at home, adhere to MCO

KLANG: Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has voiced his concern that there were still people who did not adhere to the Federal Government's movement control order (MCO), which is in its seventh day, on Tuesday (March 24).
Sultan Sharafuddin voiced his concerns on the Selangor Royal Office Facebook timeline.
The Ruler advised the people to obey the MCO and to not go against it so that the chain of Covid-19 infection can be eradicated.
The Ruler said that stubbornness and being self-centred during a critical situation will only cause problems to many, especially the frontliners.
Sultan Sharafuddin stressed the need for everyone to stay at home and for those who had symptoms of Covid-19 to step forward to undergo testing and subsequent isolation.
The Sultan also urged individuals who had attended the tabligh event at the Seri Petaling mosque, who were still stubborn by not getting tested, to come forward to be diagnosed.
Sultan Sharafuddin was also worried that in the event the spread of Covid-19 infection continues and cases increase, it would result in the MCO being extended.
He added this would further affect the daily activities of the people and adversely impact the earnings of vendors and small-scale businesses.
Earlier, the Ruler had an audience with Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari at Istana Bukit Kayangan in Shah Alam.
Amirudin had briefed Sultan Sharafuddin on the current situation on the spread of the virus in Selangor as well as the latest developments of the state’s Covid-19 force council. - Star
