PETALING JAYA : The health ministry has reported two new Covid-19 clusters in Selangor and Penang in the last 24 hours.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said they are the Usaha cluster in Petaling and Klang, Selangor, and the Tembaga cluster in northeast and southwest Penang.
In a statement, Noor Hisham said the Usaha cluster’s index case was detected during a screening on Oct 30 after the patient exhibited symptoms. A total of 25 people have been screened, with 17 testing positive, five negative and three awaiting results.
Meanwhile, the index case in the Tembaga cluster was detected after an individual displayed Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) symptoms on Oct 28. A total of 69 people have been screened, with seven testing positive, 13 negative and 49 awaiting results.
Noor Hisham said 33 clusters recorded new cases today.
The Hentian cluster in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Negeri Sembilan recorded 90 cases today. The cluster has a total of 216 cases.
The Bah Manggis cluster involving Sabah, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan recorded 33 cases today. The cluster has a total of 110 cases.
The Basung cluster in Sabah, meanwhile, recorded 22 cases today. The cluster has a total of 66 cases. - FMT
