PETALING JAYA: Flash floods hit several areas in Kuala Lumpur after a downpour that began around 5.30pm on Tuesday (Nov 17).
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said so far, four reports of the flash floods have been received.
He said the four affected areas are Jalan Segambut, Jalan Hang Lekiu, Jalan Taman Sri Rampai and Jalan Keramat.
The spokesman added that two reports of fallen trees were also received at Jalan Damansara and the Air Panas people's housing project at 6.05pm and 6.22pm respectively.
A number of Facebook posts show knee-deep water after the downpour purportedly in Taman Keramat, Selangor and Jelatek, Kuala Lumpur.
Meanwhile, a restaurant owner in Jalan Tun HS Lee said water began to inundate his premises at about 5.40pm.
"The water level was rising very fast. Within 10 minutes, my entire restaurant was inundated with knee-deep water. Several items were submerged including all my tables and chairs. The water level then began receding at around 6.30pm," said Kulwant Singh.
He added that several eateries in the areas were also affected.
