The Health Ministry reported 21,839 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,101,081.
It also reported 52 new Covid-19 deaths yesterday, of which 15 was declared as 'brought in dead'.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Active cases stood at 269,390, down 16.7 percent compared to 14 days ago.
The 52 new deaths were reported in Selangor (11), Johor (8), Kedah (8), Pahang (6), Perak (6), Penang (4), Kelantan (2), Sabah (2), Malacca (1), Negeri Sembilan (1), Perlis (1), Sarawak (1), Terengganu (1).
Over the past week, an average of 67.6 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 74.3, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 34,717 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There have been 1,968 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 771 deaths last month and 491 deaths in January.
Malaysia has the highest number of deaths per capita in the Asean and East Asian regions with 1,046 deaths per 1 million population, and fourth-worst in Asia after Iran, Lebanon and Jordan – all in the Middle East.
There are 5,710 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 291 are in intensive care.
The seven-day average of the national hospital admissions declined by 23 percent compared to the preceding week.
