Amanah strategic director Dzulkefly Ahmad believes that Muda’s bid to join Pakatan Harapan leading up to the 15th general election (GE15) is a good tactical strategy.
The former health minister said components in the coalition should cooperate with parties that have the same mission and vision, as well as fight for the same purpose.
“We have already said that component parties must strengthen Harapan immediately by focusing on approaching and courting the rakyat and voters.
“Issues like this must be discussed properly behind the scenes through the negotiation process,” Dzulkefly said, as reported by Berita Harian today.
He pointed out that Harapan and Muda have similar goals, that is the reconstruction of the country, especially in terms of the economy, governance and fighting against abuse of power as well as corruption.
The Kuala Selangor MP added that it may be possible that no party can stand alone in GE15.
Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman previously said his party is interested in joining Harapan and that informal negotiations with the coalition’s senior leadership have taken place.
While a number of Harapan politicians expressed concerns over Muda’s bid to join the coalition, Harapan chairperson Anwar Ibrahim later said they will deliberate on Muda’s application. - Mkini
