BN willing to wade through floods for GE15 - Zahid

 

Come rain or shine, BN is ready to campaign for the 15th general election which is speculated to take place later this year.

Its chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the coalition is prepared to wade through floods if GE15 is held during the monsoon season.

This came after Pakatan Harapan criticised the possibility of holding national polls during a period where floods were expected to happen.

"We are waiting for the general election, but we know the constraints (we may face) at the end of the year, which are floods and heavy rains.

"If Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob dissolves (Parliament) during the flood, (we) will brave through it to contest.

“All BN machinery will go out even during floods and typhoons,” Zahid said during the launch of the BN Youth machinery at Titiwangsa Stadium today.

The Umno president has been piling on pressure for Ismail Sabri to set a date for the polls before the year ends.

The Meteorological Department has predicted for the monsoon season to start in November and carry on until March 23, 2023.

This differs from the usual monsoon period of September to November.
