Covid-19 (Sept 15): 2,375 new cases, 3 deaths

 


COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 2,375 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 27,205, down 12.7 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (683)
Kuala Lumpur (458)
Sabah (230)
Perak (221)
Malacca (113)
Penang (108)
Sarawak (106)
Negeri Sembilan (84)
Kelantan (74)
Johor (71)
Kedah (70)
Pahang (69)
Putrajaya (47)
Terengganu (28)
Perlis (9)
Labuan (4)


Another three deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday. Deaths were reported in Kelantan (1), Selangor (1) and Kuala Lumpur (1).

Over the past week, an average of 4.1 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 6.6, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,299 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 83 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 247 deaths last month and 204 deaths in July.


There are 1,232 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 53 are in intensive care.

Patients in intensive care were 35 percent lower than a month ago.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (108) followed by Sabah (76) and Johor (42). - Mkini
