KUALA LUMPUR: Orange light illuminated Istana Negara and several other landmarks in the federal capital tonight, in celebration of World Patient Safety Day.

Istana Negara switched on orange lights from 8pm to 10pm at the Main Gate, Parade Square and Anjung Utama Dome.

Other buildings, such as the Kuala Lumpur Tower, also lit up in orange from as early as 7.30pm.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Istana Negara was lit up in blue in May 2020 to acknowledge the sacrifices of the country’s frontliners.

A photography competition was also held in conjunction with the KL in Orange event.

Last Monday, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said KLCC Lake Symphony Fountain, Kuala Lumpur Tower and Kuala Lumpur City Hall would be lit up in orange. Several hospitals also took part. - FMT
