LRT commuters stranded again due to issue on Kelana Jaya line

Stranded commuters took to social media to complain over the service disruption.

PETALING JAYA: A train on the Kelana Jaya LRT line experienced technical issues at the Ampang Park station, leaving commuters stranded at different stations this evening.

Around 5.50pm, commuters took to social media to complain of trains stopping for long periods at each station. In a Twitter post at 5.56pm, Rapid KL said the Kelana Jaya line was experiencing delays due to the technical issue.

At 5.59pm, it said the issue was being rectified.

“The train service will be up and running momentarily. We apologise for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for your patience,” it said at 6:16pm.

Commuters affected by the service disruption took to social media to complain over the matter, questioning why the line seemed to always experience issues during peak hours.

Other netizens returning from work also asked Rapid KL how long they would have to wait for its service to be back to normal.

Another user asked whether trains were inspected before being sent out, pointing out that there were two train breakdowns just today alone.

“Technical difficulties in the morning and the evening. It can’t be that in a day there are two breakdowns during peak hours,” said @_RaffiFarhan.

Meanwhile, @76Shae asked if Rapid KL support staff could inform commuters on the train why there was a hold-up at the Dang Wangi station.

“There has been no announcement on the train,” she said.

At 6.22pm, Rapid KL said the Kelana Jaya line was back to normal with “headway regulation” in progress. - FMT
