Muda is targeting to contest in 15 parliamentary seats currently held by BN and Perikatan Nasional (PN).
Speaking to Utusan Malaysia, Muda information chief Luqman Long (above) said the party's goals would avoid possible clashes with Pakatan Harapan.
"We hope for an opposition victory in government-controlled areas contested by Muda.
"We are looking for a coalition (with Harapan) from the most efficient and safest angle moving forward," he said.
Muda has expressed hope of a pact with Harapan for the next general election. The coalition leadership has not discussed the matter.
Their main obstacle is PKR, which is still smarting from their clashes with Muda during the Johor elections in March.
Not riding on Harapan
Luqman refuted allegations that it was trying to ride on Harapan's coattails.
"That is not the purpose. Muda has its own tactics. Our candidates are active in Johor, Perak, Sabah, Selangor and the Federal Territories.
"We are active and can put up a challenge," he said. - Mkini
