Johor Umno deputy chief Nur Jazlan Mohamed has rebutted Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin’s criticisms against Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, accusing the former of failing to help revive the country’s economy.
Nur Jazlan said he has yet to see Muhyiddin’s success or even ongoing efforts that could assist Ismail Sabri towards economic recovery.
“(From) What we can see, after a year since he (Muhyiddin) became the National Recovery Council chief, the country’s economy did not improve but instead worsened.
“But that has been his (Muhyiddin) attitude since before, when he failed he will start to point fingers and blame others. As if he’s perfect and has never done anything wrong,” said Nur Jazlan in a statement on Facebook.
Nur Jazlan’s remarks followed Muhyiddin’s criticisms that Ismail Sabri has failed to manage Malaysia’s economy.
Muhyiddin had claimed there are various issues plaguing the county and that the prime minister was seen to be not serious in coming up with solutions.
Meanwhile, Nur Jazlan claimed Muhyiddin was actually unhappy with Ismail Sabri over Bersatu’s request for the deputy prime minister’s position.
“Muhyiddin is actually unhappy with Ismail Sabri because his request for the deputy prime minister’s post through a secret agreement was rubbished by the prime minister.
“What hurt Muhyiddin more is when Ismail Sabri made an open statement there is no more need to appoint a deputy prime minister, with two of four senior minister posts held by Bersatu,” said the Umno Pulai chief.
“When Ismail Sabri refused to entertain and rejected his request, Muhyiddin started to rant and make various accusations against the prime minister,” he said. - Mkini
