After being remanded for allegedly sexually abusing his daughter, the father of a child actor is now being investigated for allegedly beating her with a clothes hanger in 2014.
According to news reports, the suspect, aged 43, has been transferred from Subang Jaya district police headquarters where he was held to facilitate the probe into the sexual abuse claim to the Shah Alam district police headquarters today.
Shah Alam district police chief Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said police have acquired a four-day remand order from the court to hold the father until Sept 16.
“Remand has been allowed for four days from today until September 16,” he told reporters, as quoted by The Malay Mail.
Iqbal reportedly said that the daughter had lodged another report on September 8 over the latest allegation, saying that she was physically assaulted by her father using a clothes hanger eight years ago.
Following this, police have opened an investigation under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act for mistreatment, neglect, abandonment, or exposing a child (to harm).
Police had also seized the father’s handphone for analysis.
Earlier this month, the child actor told an interview with Bros Gang Youtube Channel that she was repeatedly sexually abused by her father.
She claimed that the abuse took place between 2013 and 2017 - when she was as young as six years old. The complainant alleged that the abuse took place in her mother’s absence.
Following this, Subang Jaya police picked up the suspect from his house in Kedah on September 6 to facilitate the investigation, where he was remanded until he was handed over to Shah Alam police today. - Mkini
