PETALING JAYA: Johor Umno chief Hasni Mohammad has brushed off a claim that race-based or conservative parties, like Umno, will be buried in the next five to seven years.
Instead, he said, political parties that would be wiped out were those that were part of a coalition and were “syok sendiri” or full of themselves, the former Johor menteri besar said.
“For now, every party should focus on offering their best to the people.
“It will make for a healthier democracy if political parties respect the various demands of the voters,” he said in a Facebook post.
Hasni was responding to PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli who predicted that Umno and Barisan Nasional would be buried in the next five to seven years.
Rafizi also said that the likes of PAS and Bersatu would suffer the same fate.
The former Pandan MP claimed that it would be impossible for Umno, which he described as damaged, to rebuild itself. - FMT
