PETALING JAYA: PAS does not work with those involved in graft, Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said in dismissing a claim by an Amanah leader that the Islamic party used religion to defend and collaborate with corrupted individuals.
The PAS deputy president said the party supported the action that had been taken against those who were involved in graft.
“If he has any information on those on the take, he should lodge a police report so that action can be taken,” he said, referring to Amanah communications director Khalid Samad.
Yesterday, Khalid, in rebuking PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang for claiming that Pakatan Harapan comprised individuals who “took and gave bribes” said that PAS defended those convicted of corruption.
The Shah Alam MP also pointed out that Hadi had previously paid Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle Brown RM1.4 million as part of an out-of-court settlement in a defamation suit he had brought against her.
She had written that she had evidence of Umno channelling money to PAS leaders years before the last general election. - FMT
