Faizal staying put in Tambun

Bersatu deputy president Ahmad Faizal Azumu has vowed to continue servicing Tambun constituents although he was no longer their MP.

According to Berita Bersatu, Faizal said there are limitations now that he no longer has access to government funds.

"For example, our van jenazah (hearse) and ambulance are still in operation. We will continue our services to all, regardless of their party affiliations.

"This is not because we want to be elected. Instead, it is our social responsibility to all. As a representative of Perikatan Nasional, I want to continue as many services as possible," he said.

Faizal (above) was speaking to reporters at a Tambun PN division and Manjoi constituency service centre event on Sunday.

Although PN lost the Tambun parliamentary seat to Pakatan Harapan, it wrested the Manjoi state seat which was within the Tambun constituency.

Faizal was a one-term Tambun MP and one-term Chenderiang assemblyperson.

He was the Perak menteri besar from mid-2018 until late-2020. Following this, he was the Youth and Sports Minister from August 2021 to October 2022. - Mkini
