Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor hopes “rumours” that former Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin will join Perikatan Nasional after being fired from Umno will come true.
This is because Khairy's presence will strengthen the coalition to face the upcoming polls in six states, he said.
"It would be a positive development (if Khairy joins), (all the leaders) fired from Umno are good ones... leaders who have great potential. Who said Khairy is not great? Or Annuar Musa, Noh Omar, Shahidan Kassim, Hishammuddin (Hussein)?
"These are all great people, renowned throughout Malaysia. Everyone knows Khairy's performance when he served in the cabinet. He's a great man, if he can join PN in whatever capacity, he's most welcomed," the PAS election director was quoted as saying by Astro Awani after attending a function in Pendang, Kedah, today.
Sanusi (above, left) further thanked Khairy in advance for his consideration to join PN.
"I hope it comes true. I hope the good ones will join PN, and the lousy ones will go and join the other side (Pakatan Harapan)," he added.
Yesterday, Khairy was reported to be mulling offers to run for public office in Selangor, including that of menteri besar.
The former health minister, however, did not reveal which political party offered him the "comeback" opportunity. He also dismissed claims that he would start a new party, saying that the country is already "saturated" with political parties. - Mkini
