Three out of 10 Umno warlords who are allegedly joining Perikatan Nasional (PN) are from Johor, according to a Sinar Harian report.
The report, citing an anonymous source, said the trio were influential and once held important positions in Umno.
“I cannot name them now but I can tell you they are from Johor.
“They are important people. That is why we call them ‘warlords’. We will announce their entry soon,” said the source.
PN secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin and Bersatu information chief Razali Idris recently alleged that 10 “Umno warlords” would join PN soon.
So far, only former Kelantan Umno figure Annuar Musa has officially signed up for PAS while former Selangor Umno chief Noh Omar has been actively campaigning for PN.
Bersatu was also in the process of poaching former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin.
Annuar, Noh, and Khairy were expelled from Umno between December last year and January this year.
Several prominent Umno figures were also handed a six-year suspension, including Johor Umno stalwarts Hishamuddin Hussein and Maulizan Bujang.
Hishammuddin is currently the Sembrong MP. Both Hishammuddin and Maulizan complained that their suspensions were not according to procedure because they were never subjected to a disciplinary proceeding.
According to Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, none of those who were sanctioned had filed appeals. - Mkini
