GRS secretary-general Armizan Mohd Ali says Paginatan rep Rusdin Riman is committed to serving his constituents and ensuring the state government’s stability.
Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) secretary-general Armizan Mohd Ali said following KDM’s announcement today, he had the opportunity to speak with the party’s Paginatan assemblyman, Rusdin Riman.
“According to him, his commitment is to serve the people he represents and ensure the stability of the state government so that it can continue its development agenda for the people,” Armizan said in a Facebook post.
Armizan also revealed that Rusdin attended an event involving government assemblymen in Kota Kinabalu this morning.
Earlier today, KDM acting president Priscella Peter announced that the party was withdrawing its support for the GRS-led state government.
She said the decision was made to demonstrate the party’s direction to the public and KDM’s grassroots supporters.
The announcement comes a week after Warisan president Shafie Apdal said his party is in talks with KDM and Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) on a possible pact for the 16th general election.
Shafie said no agreement had been reached yet but any GE16 pact entered into by Warisan would prioritise Sabah’s rights and interests.
In the November 2025 state election, KDM contested on its own and won only the Paginatan seat. It subsequently aligned itself with the GRS administration.
The party currently holds one parliamentary seat – Kota Marudu – which Wetrom Bahanda won in the 2022 general election. - FMT
