1,000 vent anger at anti-LGBT rally

The Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) campus has been turned into a bashing ground for minority sexual preferences when some 1,000 people flooded its sports complex this afternoon to stage a anti-lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rally.

NONEThe rally, organised by Jaringan Melayu Malaysia and joined by several other NGOs such as the pro-establishment student group Aspirasi Mahasiswa, has singled out several politicians, activists and organisations to bear the brunt of their criticism for supporting free sex and LGBT.

"Reject Free Sex, Reject Bisexual Leader", "Gay and Bisex, Mad Dog Disease", "Bar Council Out of Mind", read some of the banners strung up in the stadium.

The organiser also distributed anti-LGBT flyers and posters slamming national laureate Abdul Samad Said, popularly known as Pak Samad, and Bersih chairperson Ambiga Sreenavesan for allegedly rallying behind the LGBT movement.

The event saw a relay of speeches from over 10 NGO leaders, with some time devoted to the tearing down of posters and set afire by fuming youths loudly chanting "Reject Ambiga, Reject LGBT".
