RM10,000 and laptops for Christian community from Info Ministry

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 6 – The Information, Communications and Culture Ministry today contributed RM10,000 and six laptop computers to St Mary’s Catholic Society and the Malaysian Tamil Christian Sports, Culture and Welfare Association in conjunction with the Christmas celebration.

Its deputy minister Datuk Maglin Dennis D’Cruz who handed over the contribution, said the money was for holding community programmes and providing aid to less fortunate Christians while the computer laptops were for selected churches.

“Yesterday, we gave out eight computer notebooks to excellent students in Klang.

“We will continue with this programme and not only in conjunction with the Christmas celebration,” he said when met after presenting the contribution at the ‘Christ In Christmas’ concert held at Dewan Dominic, Jalan Pudu, here, tonight.

About 500 people attended the concert with over 20 religious songs rendered by veterans and youths from the local Tamil Christian community and a Filipino choir. – Bernama
