KOTA KINABALU, Jan 6 – Two youths are feared to have drowned after being swept away by strong currents while swimming off Dalit beach, near the Rasa Ria Resort, in Tuaran today.
Tuaran police chief, DSP Zaharudin Rasip said Datu Almuraz Datu Enyong and Arjibra Zulkipli, both aged 20, from Kampung Telipok, Tuaran, were reported missing at 4.40pm.
The victims were having a picnic with their friends at the seaside prior to the incident.
Zaharudin said police with the cooperation of Fire and Rescue personnel mounted a search and rescue operation immediately upon being alerted, but the victims had not been located as at this evening. – Bernama
