A ‘peaceful assembly’ held by three pro-BN groups turned chaotic as eggs, sticks and a traffic cone were thrown at PKR supporters outside the party headquarters this evening.
The three groups, comprising some 50 protestors, also burnt the PKR flag in front of the premises.
The gathering was apparently prompted by the purported involvement of PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim in the incursion of Sulu militants into Lahad Datu, Sabah, last month. This accusation has been dismissed by Anwar.
Party vice-president Tian Chua is also alleged to have described the death of police commandoes in Ops Daulat as “mati katak” (dying in vain).
He has denied this and initiated legal action against pro-Umno blogger Papagomo.
Jaringan Melayu Malaysia (JMM), Pertubuhan Warisan dan Kebajikan Anak Malaysia, Selangor (Waris Malaya) and Tolak Individu Bernama Anwar Ibrahim (Tibai) initially gathered about 50 metres from the PKR headquarters.
They then marched towards the party office, singing ‘Inilah Barisan Kita’ and holding up a poster reading ‘Anwar Ibrahim, mastermind of Lahad Datu’. They also demanded action against Anwar.
However, the group suddenly rushed to confront five or six PKR supporters who were standing outside the locked premises.
They threw eggs, bricks, stones and sticks, and a box and traffic cone - some items were aimed at the building and others at the supporters, who claimed that they suffered minor injuries and bruises from the incident.

The incident lasted about 15 minutes and ended around 5.15pm. Seven police patrol cars were spotted arriving at 5.20pm, although the Tropicana police station is located only two shoplots away from the PKR premises.
"We came here not to throw eggs, but (prepared this) as a 'standby' because you have thrown eggs at us before," said Waris Malaya Selangor president Sheikh Weshal B Sheikh Ahmad, who explained the egg-throwing incident.
"The media have to play their role in showing the right events, not to portray us as gangsters. We are not gangsters.
"If Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak were to give us machineguns, we will be ready to go to Lahad Datu," he said.
'I will burn down your building'
He emphasised the importance of the police force, and said that if not for the police’s presence, they would have burned down the PKR premises.
"If there were no police, I would burn down your building," he shouted.
He claimed that the group will come back again shortly, until Tian apologises for his remark.
Meanwhile, Selangor and Wilayah Persekutuan Tibai chief Wan Indra Putra Ahmad alleged that both Anwar and Tian have been the masterminds of the Lahad Datu incident.
JMM president Azwanddin Hamzah said that action should be taken against Anwar for planning the intrusion.
Meanwhile, five PKR members and supporters claimed they suffered minor injuries in the chaos, and had lodged reports with the Damansara police station this evening.
They added that they suffered head and neck injuries due to objects thrown at them.
In one of the report, N Tamilarason, 51, claimed the cones and eggs thrown by the protesters had hit his head, and that he was pulled and kicked in his lower abdomen by the supporters.
He also mentioned that two of his friends were hit by the flying stones and sticks.
