Defence Minister Zahid Hamidi refused to directly address PKR's question on whether more goodies were possibly forthcoming for Selangor Umno Wanita chief Raja Ropiaah Raja Abdullah over a controversial deal her company struck with a subsidiary of the ministry's Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT).
"Meet me in court first, pay RM10 million first, then you can talk about other things," Zahid replied tersely today when asked on the query posed by PKR director of strategy Rafizi Ramli (left).
Zahid was referring instead to thedefamation suit he had filed against Rafizi on Jan 25, over statements the latter wrote in his blog regarding the Bukit Raja LTAT land deal involving carpet trader Deepak Jaikishan and the Umno leader.
Earlier, in his speech during the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the LTAT hostel at University Islam Antarabangsa, Zahid said he will announce the highest LTAT dividend payout tomorrow.
The Bagan Datoh MP said he will make the announcement at the ministry tomorrow morning.
Two weeks ago, Rafizi had called for the government to come clean on the deal between Raja Ropiaah’s Awan Megah Sdn Bhd and Bakti Wira Sdn Bhd - a subsidiary of Boustead Holdings Berhad under the LTAT.
He had claimed that within the initial agreement between the two companies, a Land Sharing Agreement was discovered between Awan Megah and yet another Boustead subsidiary - Jendela Hikmat Sdn Bhd.
He claimed this was of concern as Jendela Hikmat possess huge land banks in Shah Alam adjacent to Raja Ropiaah’s 23.3 acres of land she received from the initial deal and that it was possible she would receive additional lands from the former.
