Malaysian security forces have expanded the radius of their operations after learning that some intruders in Kampung Tanduo had escaped to surrounding areas.
"During the operations, we detected enemy movements to certain areas and it is possible that the location (of operations) needs to be expanded from the original zone,” said police chief Ismail Omar.
"They (intruders) are moving to certain locations and our security forces are pursuing them (over a radius of more or less 4 sq km).”

He was speaking at a press conference at Felda Sahabat Residence, Lahad Datu, this morning.
'Intruders in disguise'
Ismail also warned that there was a possibility the escaped intruders may try to disguise themselves as local civilians.
"That is why I'm warning everyone to be careful.
"Do not panic, stay away from the operation area. And if you want to move around, check with the police first for advice," he said.
Armed Forces chief Gen Zulkifeli Mohd Zin, who was also at the press conference, stressed that they were trying to secure the area.
"The first phase is to ensure that we clear and secure the area.
"The mopping operation is where we ransack the area, and then a smaller team will go in to do a more thorough search," he added.
