Taiping BN lodges police report against Tian Chua, Roland Chia over Lahad Datu statement
TAIPING, March 3 — The Taiping Barisan Nasional (BN) today lodged a police report against two opposition leaders for having linked the Lahad Datu armed intrusion and gun battle to Umno.
A representative, Datuk Ahmad Shalimin Ahmad Shafie, who is Taiping Umno chief, made the report at the Taiping Police district headquarters here at 10.30 am against Party Keadilan Rakyat vice-president Tian Chua and PKR Supreme Council member Dr Roland Chia.
Ahmad Shalimin, who was accompanied by about 100 members of BN component parties, described the allegation as a serious and malicious slander.
He said their statement could undermine the security of the country.
Ahmad Shalimin also expressed condolences to the families of the two police commandos, ASP Zulkifli Mamat, 29, and Sjn Sabaruddin Daud, 46, who were killed in a skirmish with the armed intruders in Kampung Tanduo, 130km from Lahad Datu, on March 1.— Bernama
