PARLIAMENT Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s new nation-building slogan ‘Endless Possibilities’ is not copied from Israel, but instead the country copied from Malaysia.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Shahidan Kassim (right) said Israel launched the same slogan in May this year while Malaysia had it since January.
“Those who have studied in primary school know how to differentiate between January and May,” he said during Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat sitting today.

“Those who have studied in primary school know how to differentiate between January and May,” he said during Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat sitting today.
“When we introduced it (slogan), Israel used it later but they got additional words in front, (making it) one place, endless possibilities.
“We didn’t copy people, maybe (it’s) other people who copied (from) us,” said Shahidan.
At this juncture, M Kulasegaran (DAP-Ipoh Barat) quipped the word “copycat” loudly, to which the other MPs erupted in laughter, and Shahidan immediately replied, “Shut up, you.”
The new slogan introduced to complement ‘1Malaysia had drawn widespread criticism of being a “copycat product” from a week-long Mongolian campaign and Israel’s slogan.

Shahidan added that the government hoped the slogan could help in attracting foreign investors and to cultivate the spirit of “we feeling” amongst the citizens.
Shahidan was answering Shamsul Iskandar Yusre Mohd Akin’s (PKR-Bukit Katil) question on how much had been spent on the ‘Endless Possibilities’ campaign.
To this, he said a total of RM330,000 was spent to pay relevant agencies which worked on the slogan.
At a press conference later, Shahidan added that the cost was cheaper compared to nation-building campaigns in other countries.
