Abdullah Zaik is doing the country a favour

YOURSAY ‘He’s educating Malays to differentiate between illusion and reality.’

Racist and extremist labels to silence us, says Isma

Ferdtan: Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (Isma) president Abdullah Zaik Abdul Rahman warned of a "Jewish" and "Zionist" agenda to undermine Islam's position in the country.

Yes, we know it is hard to find these Jewish agents but we know of one place where you can find them. Go to Putrajaya and you will see many of them possibly still holding important posts as consultants for the government.

Remember the Israeli-connected public relations firm Apco hired by PM Najib Razak? It seemed that 1Malaysia slogan was copied from the Zionist country - ‘1Israel’.

Milosevic: As absurd and condemnable as Abdullah Zaik is, he is actually doing the country a favour. He engages in the most racist and religiously extremist language he can muster to advance his vile political agenda.

By labeling his critics as doing the bidding of stereotypical global enemies of Muslims - Zionists, Christians, etc - he hopes to fuel a narrow Malaysian-Muslim fascist imagination.

His outrageous antics might pick up support among the ignorant and paranoid, but the blatant over-reach will make it obvious to many people, including Malays and Muslims, that it is all a crude political game.

Indirectly, he is helping the society learn that the bogeyman of the Zionist or Christian conspiracy is merely the vicious rhetorical tool of domestic politics, which have little bearing on the realities facing Malaysia.

He is helping to educate reasonable Malays to differentiate between illusion and reality. The hope is that all the latent ghosts hounding the Malay-Muslim psyche will gradually be exorcised.

Casey: To paraphrase Albert Einstein, "What a sad era when it is easier to smash an atom than a prejudice.”

Bigots like Abdullah Zaik has nothing but prejudice in their challenged make-up and psyche.

Without the contribution of non-Muslims and non-Malays, and the dynamics of a multiracial, multicultural, plural society, bigots like Abdullah Zaik will be living in poverty and misery, for they are dependent on the handouts originated from the taxes contributed by the non-Muslim and the non-Malay citizens of this country.

Swipenter: This kind of reasoning is without basis but inevitably put forward by such right-wing Muslim groups such as Isma, Perkasa, Jati, etc, for their racism and religious bigotry.

Without fail they would fish one or more bogeymen out of thin air for their defence, actions and justification for inciting hate and violence against non-Muslims and non-Malays.

If not the Chinese "intruders", then it must be the Zionists or Jews or Christians trying to usurp the Malays achievements in society or undermine the position Islam In Bolehland.

Plucking excuses out of thin is child's play, proving it with evidence and facts is never their intention. They are just troublemakers out to sow disunity amongst Malaysians.

CiViC: The fact that Abdullah Zaik till this day is speaking freely as he likes, shows clearly that he is sanctioned by BN to drown out Goods and Services Tax (GST) worries and dissatisfaction.

David Dass: The non-Malays are not interested in dominating the Malays. The non-Malays are not interested in undermining the Malays. The non-Malays are not interested in maligning Islam.

The non-Malays simply want to live in peace and harmony in Malaysia. We believe that Malaysia is a beautiful country for all of us. And we want to advance the country even further together.

Do not blame the non-Malays for taking anything away from the Malays. The impression that bodies like Isma try to give is that the non-Malays have illegally, unlawfully, fraudulently taken away stuff from the Malays.

If a particular non-Malay has unlawfully taken stuff from a Malay or anyone for that matter - arrest him, charge him. But if he has not, do not grudge him for whatever he may have earned by his hard work. He pays taxes and he obeys the law.

And do not also resent him for defending his rights under the Constitution. That is his right.

The Constitution protects the Malay - it protects the position of Islam, the place of the rulers, the national language and Article 153 protects Malay rights.

The Constitution also protects the rights of all citizens, whatever his race or religion. It guarantees freedom of religion, freedom of speech, it makes everyone equal under the law.

The Army, police, civil service and the majority of elected representatives in the country are Malays. The non-Malays, whether under Pakatan Rakyat or BN, cannot remove Malay rights. Or alter the position of Islam.

So Isma, what is all this nonsense about?

Cry, My Beloved Country: As Isma has neither a standing in society - having surfaced on online media not so long ago - nor a respected status, its rantings have little value in carrying the current conversation forward seriously.

Its vile observations, utterly non-rational, is but inflammatory distraction to work people up, and  best ignored and dismissed summarily by all Malaysians who have the good of the country at heart.

Oriole: Poor Abdullah Zaik, do your delusions keep your awake at nights? Do you suffer anxiety attacks and frequent bouts of aggression? Do you find yourself abusing and ill-treating people and creatures smaller than yourself?

You probably need medical attention or you've forgotten to take the medication that has been prescribed regularly for people such as yourself suffering from delusional, paranoid schizophrenia.

The worrying thing is that there might be some really gullible people who might believe everything you say and choose to believe the garbage you produce from your sickened brain.

Doc: I am getting confused. First Isma was against the Chinese for undermining the Malays. Then they were against the Christians for undermining the Malays. Now Isma is faulting the Jews for undermining the Malays.

I guess by end of this week, Isma will claim that the Americans are also undermining the Malays. Damn, according to Isma, pretty much everyone is undermining the Malays. -Mkini
