Najib tweeted and posted on his Facebook account a photograph of his visit, saying giant pandas were considered symbols of peace and were highly revered.
The pandas are here for 10 years to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Malaysia and China on May 31.
Loaned through the Malaysia-China Giant Panda International Conservation Agreement programme, the pandas will be quarantined for one month in Zoo Negara.
