PAS denies that its supporters stopped speaker from meeting Sultan of Terengganu

With uncertainty surrounding the future of the Terengganu government, PAS has denied rumours that its supporters had attempted to prevent the state assembly speaker from entering the palace and meeting the sultan.
The Star online reported that former PAS state commissioner Abdul Wahid Endut assured the public that PAS supporters would not resort to such behaviour.
“It is not our way. The current controversy involves Barisan Nasional leaders, not us,” the Star online quoted him as saying today.
The state PAS committee is meeting to discuss the party’s options in view of the current political crisis.
“We will weigh our options and decide on the best course of action. We hope people will stop spreading rumours,” he said in the report.
Wahid, who is the Wakaf Mempelam assemblyman, also denied inviting former menteri besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said to join PAS.
“We prefer to stay out of Barisan’s troubles,” he said.
On Monday, Ahmad Said quit the party hours after he was replaced by Datuk Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman (pic) as Terengganu Menteri Besar.
The former menteri besar and Kijal assemblyman was soon joined by Ajil assemblyman Ghazali Taib to become independent representatives. This morning, Bukit Besi assemblyman Roslee Daud quit Umno.
The latest developments leave Barisan Nasional with 14 seats, one fewer than Pakatan Rakyat's 15 in the 32-seat assembly.
In the 13th general election, Barisan won 17 state seats against Pakatan Rakyat's 15, and managed to win half of the eight Parliamentary seats in the state.
