PKR
vice-president N.Surendran, reacting to the news, said: "The worst of traitors!"
DAP's Likas assemblyman Junz Wong also tweeted: "Now everyone can see Khalid’s true colour clearly and that’s why DAP has fully supported the move to remove Khalid!"
Khalid was sacked by PKR last week for defying the party’s orders to step down as menteri besar and make way for Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who is the party's president.
Khalid's move leaves him and four PAS state executive councillors as the state government. It is not known whether the PAS national leadership is aware of the sackings and its stand on the issue.
PAS has insisted its decision on replacing Khalid as the Selangor menteri besar will only be made on August 17.
PKR legal bureau deputy chief S.Jayathas called on the Islamist party to quickly make a decision following the sacking of the six councillors, saying, "For the sake of the Rakyat, PAS must state their stand now".
Echoing the same sentiment is Serdang MP Dr Ong Kian Ming, who said, "It's high time that the PAS leadership shows whether they stand with PR or with a non-PR MB who is supported by UMNO."
In a sarcastic note, human rights group Lawyers for Libery tweeted, "tahniah Pas & para penyokong Khalid! Selangor telah kembali ke Umno". (Congratulations PAS and Khalid's supporters. Selangor has gone back to Umno).
Meanwhile, Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan called on Pakatan supporters not to blame Umno for the Selangor crisis.
"Don't blame UMNO for the Selangor mess. Blame it squarely on Anwar and Rafizi who initiated the power crazy plan of Kajang Move," referring to PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the party's strategic director Rafizi Ramli.
The Kota Belud MP added: "I never knew a 'boring' politician like TSKI (Khalid) could out manoeuvred seasoned politician like DSAI. Never! #SelangorKu".
