Umno supreme council member claims the former premier has the tendency to pick fights with everyone, citing Anwar, Pak Lah and now Najib, as examples.
KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Supreme Council member Bung Mokhtar Radin today called former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad a “kaki gaduh” (one who likes to pick a fight).
This is evident in the veteran politician’s clashes with various individuals, including his former deputy Anwar Ibrahim, former Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and now, premier Najib Razak, said Bung.
“This is not a new thing, we saw this coming, it’s Tun M (Mahathir’s) character.
“Who has he not fought with? He has fought with every leader who used to work with him,” Bung told a press conference at the Seri Pacific Hotel here today.
The Kinabatangan MP also asked Mahathir to emulate former presidents of the United States, who had never intervened in current leader Barack Obama’s administration.
“Imagine if past presidents started commenting about the current one, what would happen?
“But no one has done that with Obama’s administration. We also want that,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rural and Regional Development Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who was also present at the press conference, said Mahathir’s action of colluding with the Opposition to topple Najib will not benefit Umno.
