DID YOU OR DID YOU NOT LIE TO NAJIB? UMNO FACTION TRIES TO THWART BID BY MEDIA PRIMA BOSS TO SACK PM’S SYCOPHANTS AMID RATINGS PLUNGE
KUALA LUMPUR – Media Prima Berhad chairman Datuk Seri Fateh Iskandar Mohamed Mansor should not keep silent after being accused of misleading the prime minister over the reason for TV3’s ratings drop, an Umno Youth leader said today.
The political wing’s assistant secretary Datuk Mohammad Sahfri Ab Aziz urged Fateh not to prolong the spat with prominent public figure Tunku Abdul Aziz Ibrahim, saying it was important to clarify the truth surrounding TV3 as the television station is part of the government’s official news and information channel.
“TV3’s success as a main source of news, information and entertainment is a big inspiration to the people.
“Such confusion should be avoided for the sake of TV3’s good image. I also urge the Media Prima Berhad chairman to immediately deny the allegation,” Mohammad Sahfri said in a statement.
Tunku Abdul Aziz has repeatedly demanded an apology from Fateh whom he accused of misusing his name to mislead Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in November, into believing that TV3’s ratings fell to “dangerously low levels” due to his appearances on the channel.
