KUALA LUMPUR: 40 SSPN-i account holders under the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) will receive RM25,000 each to fund their higher education.
The 40 recipients are the winners who took part in a month-long RM1 Juta Harapan contest jointly organised by Dutch Lady Milk Industries Berhad (DLMI) and PTPTN in April.
In a statement, PTPTN congratulated all 40 winners and thanked DLMI for contributing the prize money for the contest.
"This is the first time we have had such a collaboration with a private company and we look forward to more joint events in the future.. This RM1 Juta Harapan contest was aimed at inculcating thrifty habits and to encourage children to save money for their future from a young age."
It added that the contest which was held from April 5 to May 30 was meant to get parents to instill the habit of savings in their children from an early age.
"It is a strategic collaboration between PTPTN and DLMI that awards winners RM25,000 each in the form of a National Education Savings Scheme (SSPN-i) account deposit," it said.
PTPTN said it also welcomed more parties, both from the private sector and public sector to collaborate with it in organising similar contests or events in the future.
