PETALING JAYA: Several areas in Sabah and Pahang will be placed under an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from Aug 22 to Sept 4 to curb the spread of Covid-19 infections.
In a statement today, National Security Council (MKN) director-general Rodzi Md Saad said in Kota Belud, Sabah, Kampung Kulambai, Kampung Kulambai Kupang, Kampung Kulambai Dundau, Kampung Labuan, Kampung Ambong Tolus, and Kampung Tugusan would be placed under EMCO.
The Cantawan farming house, the Silabukan and Lestari housing, Felda Sahabat 48 in Lahad Datu as well as Kampung Tangkuyan in Tongo will also go under EMCO.
In Tawau, Taman Millenium and Taman Kinabutan Ria will go under similar restrictions.
In Pahang, Flat Damai Taha in Temerloh, and Taman Balok Makmor and Kampung Seberang Sungai Ular in Kuantan will also be placed under EMCO.
Rodzi added that the EMCO at Bandar Sinsuran, University Condominium Apartment Phase 2 and Kepayan low-cost housing will be extended until Sept 4.
Meanwhile, the EMCOs at several localities in three states are set to end tomorrow.
They are Kampung Lohan 1 in Ranau, Sabah, Kuala Tahan in Jerantut, and Taman Sri Layang, Taman Rimba and Taman Tualang Indah in Temerloh, Pahang.
In Perak, the EMCOs at Taman Seri Pangkor, the Pangkor low-cost housing, Kong Heap Lee farm, Flat Taman Desa Pangkor and Taman Desa Pangkor in Manjung; Kampung Perlok and Kampung Perlok Baru in Batang Padang; Horizon construction site and the Batu Gajah moral rehabilitation centre in Kinta will also end tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the EMCOs at Kampung Orang Asli Sungai Lah in Batang Padang, Perak, and Felda Sungai Panching Selatan in Kuantan, Pahang, will end today. - FMT
