A few weeks back I wrote a blog post where I said that after the next General Elections, the DAP will nominate the next Prime Minister.
Well it looks like events have really moved much faster than what I "predicted", perhaps not as exactly but well within the ballpark.
The Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has indeed reached out to the "Opposition parties" - in particular to the DAP - to most likely form some form of a unity government.
Today a friend of mine suggested that I write an "Open Letter to the DAP and the Chinese Community" suggesting that the DAP do not miss this fantastic opportunity to not only work together with Bersatu, Umno (and yes even Pas) but to influence the entire course of this country's future.
It looks like this is what is happening now. Here is the news :
- DAP leadership gave nod to negotiate with PN govt
- PH nod to speak to (PN) Lim Guan Eng confirmed.
- media reports 2 DAP leaders spoke to minister
- Sin Chew said Tony Pua and Ong Kian Ming worked with Tengku Zafrul
- agreement reached after several rounds of secret meetings
- to carry out parliamentary and institutional reforms
- the 2 DAP MPs helped draft proposals that PM Muhyiddin pushed
- to keep his administration intact with help of PH
- many MPs and leaders from PH have held discussions with (PN) he said
