Afizan Mohamad who headed the Hulu Langat Covid-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) in Selangor has succumbed to the Sars-CoV-2 virus.
He passed away after battling Covid-19 for 13 days in the intensive care unit of Serdang Hospital.
The Malaysian Association of Environmental Health (MAEH) conveyed its condolences.
Afizan also served as an environmental health officer with the Hulu Langat district health office.
He was among the frontliners battling the Covid-19 pandemic.
A CAC is where those found positive for Covid-19 are funneled through.
At the centre, health experts will determine the severity of their infections and decide where they will receive treatment - at home, at a low-risk quarantine centre, or at a hospital.
Afizan was laid to rest yesterday.
