KOTA BARU: The state government will contribute RM50,000 to the Kedah government to aid the flood-hit state.
In a statement tonight, Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob said the donation would be made under its Serambi Mekah fund.
"The Kelantan government sympathises with the people of Kedah especially those living in Yan and Kuala Muda. Hopefully, the donation will be of aid to the state," he said.
Flash floods hit Kedah yesterday evening, leaving at least four people dead so far and two missing.
Among the locations which were inundated following a rush of water from upstream were areas at the foot of Gunung Jerai and those near rivers, namely Perigi, Teroi Bukit, Singkir, Kampung Permatang Keramat, Kampung Lubuk Boi, Pekan Yan Besar, Titi Teras, Kampung Acheh and Kampung Setoi. - NST
