PETALING JAYA: Several areas in Sabah, Terengganu, Kelantan and Perak will be placed under EMCO from Aug 16 to Aug 29, said senior minister for security Hishammuddin Hussein.
In a statement today, he said four localities in Kota Belud, Sabah, will be placed under EMCO. They are Kampung Mantanau, Kampung Pirasan Ulu, Kampung Suang Punggur and Kampung Tambulaung.
Also in Sabah, Taman Megah Jaya (Lorong 2, 3, 9, and 10) will also be placed under EMCO.
Other localities under EMCO include Kampung Bukit Cina in Besut, Terengganu; Kampung Lela Jasa in Kuala Krai, Kelantan; and Spanish Garden construction site in Kinta, Perak.
Meanwhile, the EMCOs at 19 localities in the Kuala Dungun subdistrict in Terengganu will be extended until Aug 30. The affected areas are Sungai Buaya, Tanah Lot, Lembah, Padang Jambu, Nibong, Bukit Chatak Tengah, Kampung Molek, Bijangga, Sungai Udang, Sungai Penaga, Kubang Miang, Teratai, Teluk Lipat, Alot Tembusu, Sura Utara, Batu 48, Sura Gate, Bukit Chatak, and Tembesu Akar.
The EMCOs at 14 localities in the Sura subdistrict in Terengganu will be extended until Aug 30. They involve Gong Pasir low-cost public housing, Kampung Gong Pasir, Taman Maidam, Batu 5, Sura Tengah, Alor Tempoyak, Taman Rakyat Jaya, Taman Delima Batu 6, Balai Besar, Sura Melati, Batu 7, Paya Balai Besar, Pak Sabah, and Sura Lapangan Terbang.
The EMCO at Kampung Tagibang in Kota Marudu, Sabah, will also be extended until Aug 30.
Hishammuddin also said that the EMCOs at five localities in Sabah will end on Aug 16. They involve Agathis farm in Kalabakan, Kampung Bakalau in Beaufort, Kampung Nosoob in Penampang, Hibumas farm housing in Beluran, and Kampung Gusung in Kota Kinabalu.
The EMCO at Anak Ikan low-cost public housing in Besut, Terengganu, will also end on Aug 16.
On enforcement, Hishammuddin said the SOP compliance task force ordered 65 premises, comprising businesses, factories and construction sites, to close yesterday for failure to comply with SOPs.
He also said 174 people were arrested yesterday over MCO-related offences, with nine remanded. - FMT
